The sound you have just heard are of the maroons and was the traditional method of mustering the Lifeboat crew, in days gone by when the Lifeboat was launched by horses, they were released from their duties and also headed for the lifeboat station, over the years technology and health and safety issues have nearly resigned this method of calling the crew to history.
Although health and safety is top priority it has been noticed that the local community are not aware when their Lifeboat has been called.
The crew of the Hoylake Lifeboat would like to say a big thank you to Lloyd Wickens who is, Nuttal John Martin site agent on the Hoylake Lifeboat Station project, we have had a good working relationship with Lloyd and other members of his team, their professionalism is reflected in the quality of the building, we would also like to wish all the guys all the best for the future, and thanks for the shirts Lloyd, we will wear them with pride.

The doors are on the North West side of the building and the landscaping has begun with plants and bushes being planted at the front. Photo Dan Whiteley.
